Woo hoo, it’s Cheltenham Festival this week! A horse race meet we always look forward too here. It’s such a different race meet to the others. For one it’s in Spring, so you really need to think about your outfit, and that goes for both the ladies and the gentlemen. As you won’t be comfortable if you’re cold.
Our in house milliner Jessica Rea, has put together a piece on what the ladies should wear to Cheltenham over on her site… click here to see it>>
But… we wanted to offer some advise for gents, if you’re attending this week.
It’s really all about staying warm and rocking the tweed for this horse racing meet. Tweed really is king and the more of it the better. If it’s going to be a chilly day, invest in a three piece suit or pop a cashmere jumper on under your jacket. Top brands like Alan Paine, Hoggs of Fife will offer you a good quality tweed which is waterproof and will last season after season. If you’d like to finish your outfit off with a hat, we suggest opting for a traditional flat cap or a fedora style hat with added feathers (Jessica Rea our in-house milliner can match the trim and feathers to your outfit, and yes this is necessary for men too).
For the tie, keep it simple with yellow, burgundy or blue, Hoggs of Fife do a nice range. As for shirts, keep is crisp with white, blue or a simple check again look at Alan Paine range. Cord trousers in navy, green, burgundy or brown by Hoggs of Fife are a nice alternative teamed with a simple tweed jacket, as sported by Prince William here.
